• An evening of opera in the garden of The Old Hall
  • Experience the passion that only opera can achieve - love, hate, intrigue, jealousy and rage; from side-splitting comedy to heart-wrenching tragedy; from the classical perfection of Mozart's music to the full-blooded romanticism of Leoncavallo. The whole entertainment is served up in Garden Opera's fully staged and costumed new production sung in English.

  • To add to your enjoyment the following will be available:

    • A cash bar selling wine and Prosecco.

    • Wine for pre-order or purchase.

    • Pre-order hamper service - details supplied with tickets.

  • Just relax and lose yourself in a wonderful evening of opera in the garden.

  • Please bring your own seating and, in case of inclement weather, your wet weather gear and umbrellas.

  • The Garden Opera Company
  • We are delighted to welcome back our friends from the Garden Opera Company who bring their inimitable style to the garden stage.

  • Pagliacci (Clowns) recounts the tragedy of a jealous husband in a touring troupe of clowns. The story weaves comedy, intrigue and jealousy hidden behind the mask of a performer and provides a rare opportunity to see this highlight of Leoncavello's mastery in opera.

  • It is preceded by The Impresario, Mozart's rarely-performed one-act comedy with music about squabbling sopranos. Two singers apply for the same role and when the impresario likes them both the bickering begins. Eventually, the impresario finds a compromise to stop the squabbling and harmony ensues...

  • All profits from sales will raise funds for our chosen charity - the local homelessness charity Framework. We feel it is highly appropriate that a house which has been a home for hundreds of years should help to raise funds for those who are homeless in our own day and in our own communities.

  • Raising funds for Framework, the Nottinghamshire-based homelessness charity
  • We are all a couple of crises away from potential homelessness. Funding cuts are reducing available support whilst rising unemployment and the credit squeeze mean that homelessness is affecting more people. Funds raised will help to maintain support for people in need.

  • Each year Framework helps around 7,000 people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless throughout Nottinghamshire and also in Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire. We are delighted to be part of the celebration of Framework's 10th anniversary which falls on 1 July. The opera is a key event in Framework's 10 Days of Action to mark this occasion.
